Press Release: New HIGH THERE movie trailer launches fall marketing campaign for gonzo film comedy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Festival appearances and filming of High There sequel promise a busy season

HOLLYWOOD (September 21)  Producers of the gonzo film comedy High There have gotten a jump on their fall marketing campaign with the release of a new movie trailer highlighting the rave reviews the documentary has received since its release this summer.

The trailer, titled "The Best-Reviewed Documentary Film of 2015," was launched today on YouTube, Vimeo and other platforms as the High There continues to rack up substantial viewers as a Video on Demand, and steady sales as a limited edition DVD.

Other autumn High There promotions include October appearances by directors and stars Wayne Darwen and Henry Goren at the second annual Las Vegas Hempfest, and the High Times Halloweed Cannabis Cup in central California.

"Expect the boys to be in character as Dave High and Roland Jointz," promises High There executive producer Sam Peters.  "Then again, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference!"

Filming on a High There sequel, Area 420, is scheduled to begin in late fall.  Darwen is also available for radio, television and online interviews.

The High There fall campaign extends an active summer for Darwen, who along with producer Burt Kearns was recently the subject of an extensive and entertaining interview on the popular Documentary Dude website.  The features came on the heels of the Documentary Dude review, which called High There "wildly entertaining" and "destined to become a cult movie."

Darwen made international news in August when he was pictured with comedian and Broad City star Hannibal Buress at the Echo Park Rising music, art and food festival.

High There is a Sam Peters International Productions Unlimited and Good Story Productions presentation of a Rat Lung picture.  It's distributed by BRINKvision on limited edition DVD and VOD.

The film's success has been helped immensely by positive reviews and news articles in the alternative press, and reviews from the new breed of independent digital film critics.  High There has received many raves from indie movie websites, including  A Bucket of Corn, which called High There "a perfect film," and Movie & TV Series Geek ("A perfect example of a memorable and really good piece of filmed cinema").

BRINKvision set to release Limited Edition of award-winning film on June 23rd

HOLLYWOOD (MAY 5) -- HIGH THERE, the nonfiction comedy film that won the Viewers’ Choice Award at Humboldt County's first annual Cannabis Film Festival, can be pre-ordered as a DVD on Amazon.com.

The film will be released on DVD and On Demand across North America by BRINKvision on June 23rd.

"This initial offering is a limited edition, and is sure to sell out," says producer Burt Kearns. "It will definitely be a collector's item."

High There is a dark nonfiction comedy following Darwen in the guise of journalist-producer "Dave High," who heads to Hawaii to film a marijuana travel series, only to become lost in a fog of drugs, sex and paranoia as he uncovers a government plot to control the marijuana trade.

High There is a production of Sam Peters International Productions Unlimited, Good Story Productions and Rat Lung Pictures. It was written by Darwen and directed by Darwen and cinematographer Henry Goren (who costars as “Roland Jointz”) and produced by Kearns.

Darwen is a veteran tabloid journalist and television producer who was the inspiration for Robert Downey Jr.'s character in "Natural Born Killers," has been compared to Hunter S. Thompson and is credited as a godfather of both tabloid television and "gonzo producing."

BRINKvision is known as "the last real independent film distribution company."
